Jaya Guru Datta,

 

Here is today's saying:

 

“In reality, buddhi is inert. It is incapable of independently perceiving the

objects of the organs of perception and assuming the form of the objects.

Still, because the consciousness of the pratyagatma is reflecting in it, it has

acquired that power.

 

Observe here that it is not said that the atma reflects in the buddhi; instead

it is said that pratyagatma reflects in the buddhi. There isn't much difference

here. Because atma is sometimes identified with the indriyas, manas, the

intellect or the prana, the special term - 'Pratyagatma' is used here. It is to

stress again that atma is different from all those things. Pratyak means

subtle. (0r that which lies inside.)"
