Jaya Guru Datta,

Here is today's saying:

“The body is more interior than the external objects. Senses are even more

interior. Intellect, ahankara, etc. are more and more interior (subtler) and

therefore in their own level they appear as though they are themselves 'Atma'

because, there is the most subtle aspect, i.e., the Pratyatgama. This

Pratyagatma itself is the real 'I'. There is nothing more interior or subtler

than this. Therefore it is eternal and does not get abolished in any

circumstance. It is Pratyagatma alone which is permanent.

Because of its contact with the consciousness of the Pratyagatma, the buddhi

shines as though it is Pratyagatma itself. The buddhi which itself seems to

shine behaves as the 'drashta' (seer) on one hand and as 'drishya' (seen) on the

other hand.

With the help of the example of the crystal, it was shown as to how the buddhi

behaves as 'drashta'. How does the buddhi acquire the nature of the 'drishya'

(seen)? Eyes, etc. (senses) bring form etc. (objects) to the buddhi. When

Buddhi, which is by nature subtle, comes in contact with the objects, it assumes

their forms just like the molten iron takes the form of the mould in which it is

poured."
