LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 20 As taught by Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji Compiled by: Swami Dattananda Bhakti Mala, June 1994 “Know that this action to have risen from the Brahma and that the Brahma from the Imperishable Brahman. Therefore the all-pervading Brahman is established in Yajna” (Chapter 3, Verse 15). The Purusha (Divine Spirit) dwelling in the Prakriti (Nature) and from whom all creations start is called Brahma. This Brahma is not free from qualities and as such he is conditioned. It is from this Brahma that all actions or all movements of creation start. So it is said that Karma (action) is born out of Brahma. This Brahma is mutable and so He is called Akshara Brahma. This Brahma has emerged out of the Akshara Brahman who remains free from all qualities and who is unconditioned. He is called Akshara because He is immutable and indestructible. He is the all-pervading Supreme Self. This All-pervading Supreme Brahman is ever established in sacrifice. So the Supreme Lord will be close to the persons who do selfless sacrifices and services to fellow-beings, as He is ever present in all sacrifices. - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.
