Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “Because 'I' exists in all the three states (which come and go), it is independent of and different from the three states. Because it observes the coming and going of the three states, 'I' is eternal. We have understood that three states are brought about by the past Karma. Because we have now understood that the Atman is different from the three states, these karmas do not taint the Atman at all. Therefore Atman ('I') is ever Shuddha (pure). Because Atman knows about the coming and going of the three states, it is not Jada (inert) but is a Buddha (knower). Because it is not tainted by sin and merit, it does not have avidya (ignorance), kama(desire), or karma. Therefore it is Mukta (liberated, unbound). Though the three states come and go the Atman remains the same. Therefore it is Avikriya (changeless). In all the three states there is no deficiency in the capability of the Atman with respect to its nature, which is of the form of knowledge. Therefore it is referre d to as Aparilupta Drik (that which does ot have deficient vision). Because 'I' alone exists in all the three states, it is Adviteeya (that which is without a second). Only after analysing the three states of consciousness we understood the above facts one after the other. Understanding all the above mentioned aspects of Atman was made possible because of proper understanding of the three states of consciousness. All this knowledge could be attained through analysis. This should culminate in experience. For this, Sadguru's blessing is absolutely necessary."
