Jaya Guru Datta,

Here is today's saying:

"In my case, there is no other evidence. I am the absolute evidence. To

understand something which is not eternal and which is not all pervading, some

sort of Pramana (testimony) is required. I am eternal. I am all pervading.

How then can one desire for an evidence in establishing my existence? (that

which brings about factual knowledge is called Pramana. For example, in

bringing about the factual knowledge of the form of an object, the eyes serve as

pramana).

To see the smoke (in the fire-smoke analogy), the eyes are the Pramana. In

understanding the existence of the (unseen) fire, Vyapti (knowledge of

accompaniment) is the evidence. To establish the existence of Swarga (heaven),

the Vedas serve as the testimony. What can serve as a Pramana in understanding

'I'? {seeing smoke on a distant mountain, one will infer that there is fire,

although one is not able to see it. Here, he is able to actually see the smoke.

His past experience has given him the knowledge that there is bound to be fire

wherever there is smoke. This knowledge is called as Vyapti Jnaana or simply,

Vyapti (knowledge about the invariable concomitance.) With the help of this

knowledge, the person will assert that there is fire on the mountain. In

asserting the existence of the unseen fire, Vyapti serves as pramana.}

The three states come and go. I remain incessantly in all these three states.

Threfore it is clear that I am eternal and all-pervading. Therefore in

understanding the 'I' who is of the nature of Sachchidananda, I alone am the

Pramana."
