Guest guest
It is nice to have a place to exchange views. Perhaps in a spirit of keeping Swamiji's birthday celebrations in mind, we could spend the next two weeks sharing some of our Swamiji stories and experiences and let this other issue step aside. If you like this, then let's begin. Jai Guru Datta. Bhakti
Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta everyone from around the world who are a member of the Jaya Guru Datta List serve. It seems that the general purpose of the group is inherent in the name of the group. Years ago, I proposed an email group/chat room for Swamiji devotees to a Satsang member who shunned my idea entirely. I then emailed Sri Swamiji's secretary Prasad with the idea. Some months later this group appeared. I joined the group, but with all my moves and email address changes, lost contact and then forgot about the group. At some later point, much later, I was hungry for contact and was told such a group existed, which I had completely forgotten about! I then emailed the person who had originally shunned my idea to get me going again! I don't know if the idea for the group was already in the making, or if my expressed idea sparked the group, or any other possibility. I do know that when I emailed Prasad with my idea, that my general thinking was that we devotees needed a web based forum to: exchange Swamiji stories and miracles, information, and travel plans and also, that if people traveling from one area to see Sri Swamiji needed help with housing or transportation, that they had a chance to get it through a forum. Anything with respect to sharing our lives with Jaya Guru Datta as the pinnacle focus seems alright. I object to people soliciting clients for their lawsuits, especially under the guise of philanthropy, or any other non related commercial enterprise for the purpose of making money. I don't think the purpose of this group is to advertise our professional wares or services. Maybe others disagree. Then maybe we could have a day designated when everyone tells their profession/business!!! Jaya Guru Datta, Karen
