Jai Guru Datta.

Perhaps you have all heard of the magical happenings in the Mysore Ashram of

Sri Swamiji. While there in 1999 for the Venkateswara Temple inauguration,

the onlookers witnessed several eagles circling the kumba during the

kumbabishekam. It was as if Vishnu had arrived on Garuda to bless the

occasion. Garuda is the eagle which is the vehicle of Vishnu. On a more

personal note, on my last day there, two other women devotees and I made our

way back from Chamundi hill in an autorikshaw. As we approached the gate

giggling like little girls, I called out from the riskshaw "Appaji, your

little girls are home!" As if immediately responding lovingly to His

children, an eagle appeared at our eye level and escorted our rikshaw all the

way into the gate and down the road to the dormitory before flying off out of

site. We were thrilled. Three grown women as carefree, loved and safe in

Datta's ashram as little girls with their Father. Yes, we are indeed the

children of Lord Datta.
