actions.

LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 24

As taught by Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji

Compiled by: Swami Dattananda

Bhakti Mala, November 1994

"Those men who always practice this teaching of mine,

full of faith and unenvious, are also liberated from

actions."

Those who ever abide by the instructions of the Lord

(in verse 30) become free from the bonds of all

actions, that is, the chain of action and reaction.

They are liberated from actions in the sense that no

action can taint them. They easily get elevated. But

they should have implicit faith in the utterances of

the Lord.

Next, they should not be jealous of others'

achievements. People who are given to envy or jealousy

will not be able to appreciate the goodness in others.

Their minds will always be impure and agitated. Such

people cannot concentrate their minds on any noble

work. On the other hand, they who are free from envy

will possess serene and calm minds and have love for

mankind. They are ever on the path of elevation, which

they go on scaling. Thus it is clear that faith in the

words of the Lord and scriptures and love for mankind

are two primary requisites for any Karma Yogi.
