Guest guest
sri guru datta. Here are some new satsang question(s) for the interested... What is the attitude of a spiritual minded person towards the concept of self-effort? How does such a person go about his daily life? How does such a person relate to swamiji? What is his/her personal belief in swamiji's role in his/her life? How is their behavior in relation to day-to-day affairs, and what is the relationship of these day-to-day affairs with spiritual affairs? Does self-effort in any field of activity play a role (even in the spiritual field), or is there something beyond one's reach that modifies one's life? hint: swamiji has provided answers to these previously. bonus question: what is the meaning of life? jai guru datta. Guest guest
JGD Datta! First… “the transformation in the heart is the real answer to all questions, however Sri Swamiji does not discourage inquiry, for they form the first bonds between the Guru and the disciple.” What is the attitude of a spiritual minded person towards the concept of self-effort? I’m not sure what u mean by “self-effort”, but I think u mean effort to know the self. Ok..my attitude is oath-like….pretty serious. How does such a person go about his daily life? The daily life of “such a person” according to me should be related to the goal... To be unattached. The mind must be used to get detached from the world. We should engage in proper education, and this education if learned well can be used to participate in the daily life better. And.. we should focus on completing the “course”. (And of course pooja/meditation/hatha-yoga/kriya-yoga/karma-yoga-jnana-yoga/etc. should be done/practiced everyday. Some people say "today i had no time..." but one should see it like an oath...everyday one should do pooja..if you had no time in the morning do it in the evening even if it is 0400hrs...oath like). How does such a person relate to Sri Swamiji? “such a person” should think continuously about Sri Swamiji. Until questions remain the thinking etc. should go on. What is his/her personal belief in Sri Swamiji's role in his/her life? Sri Swamiji can very beautifully help to see the path to overcome the Praarabdha Karma. And Guru Seva is the key. One should offer oneself totally. How is their behavior in relation to day-to-day affairs, and what is the relationship of these day-to-day affairs with spiritual affairs? I think day-to-day affairs should be used in favour of the spiritual affairs(and vice versa). Does self-effort in any field of activity play a role (even in the spiritual field), or is there something beyond one's reach that modifies one's life? One has to deal with for example the Praarabdha Karma. This surely has a modificating character. “Self-effort” of course plays a role. An eminent warrior can for example neutralise the arrow-like Praarabdha Karma. bonus question : what is the meaning of life? Hhmmm Pradyumna again this question..maybe it would help answering this question of yours if u told us your opinion/answer. The meaning of life is.. going up the stairs..step by step. One can use the prescribed methods much in ones advantage. Guest guest
> bonus question: > what is the meaning of life? Jaya Guru Datta, For me personally, the meaning of life is to overcome fear and thus to be able to see the one in all. I have noticed that fear prevents me from surrender and thus from seeing the one in all. In some cases I behaved like Draupadi did at first, who at first only lifted one hand to heaven in order to implore Krishna for help, whereas she intended to protect herself with the other hand in case Krishna should fail. So fear prevented me from surrender. Yet this is personal, can´t be discussed any further. Others might feel differenty. So what?
