LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 36 As taught by Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji Compiled by: Swami Dattananda Bhakti Mala, November 1995 “He whose undertakings are all free from plan and desire for results and whose actions have been burnt in the fire of knowledge, is called wise by the sages.” The wise man is he who has attained God-consciousness. He lives on earth, yet he is not earthly. He has given up the world totally. As such, he has no desires of any sort. He has no plans of becoming rich or to earn a name and fame. He performs actions only for the good of the world. In the fire of his knowledge of the self, he has burnt all his actions, that is, his egoism or agency in the performance of his actions. Therefore, his actions do not have any power to bind him to the world by creating reactions. The fire of knowledge is the true wisdom gained by self-realization. The message of Karma Yoga has been delivered by Sri Krishna in this verse. He who performs desireless actions will attain the blissful abode of God. The laws of Karma would not bind him. This is the highest ideal of action described by the Lord in the Gita. Autos - Get free new car price quotes http://autos.
