LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 52 >From the discourses of Pujya Sri Swamiji “He whose joy is within, whose delight is within, who is illumined within, that sage, becoming Brahman, gains absolute freedom.” In this verse, a description of the person who is in a position to secure the supreme peace of Brahman is given. He is happy within, that is, with his own Self without any external causes being operative. He has his delight or peace within his own Self. He has his indwelling Self alone as his light. So he is an illumined person and as such he never depends upon his eyes or ears for acquiring knowledge. Such a person, having become Brahman even while he is still living, attains absorption in Brahman. That is what is meant by gaining absolute freedom or liberation.
