Guest guest Posted October 25, 2002 Report Share Posted October 25, 2002 Sri Guru Datta, I feel i get good energy from discussing Sri Swamijis teachings...like Sri Guru Gita, Sri Datta Darshanam, etc. Tanx 2 all 4 the Satsang! One has to understand the essence of guru first .....indeed! Shadangaadi vedo mukhe Shaastra vidyaa Kavitva adi gadyam supadyam karoti / Guroram ghripadme manashche na lagnam Tatah kim? Tatah kim? Tatah kim? Tatah kim? //(Sri Guru Ashtakam, verse 3) Translation litt.:Shadangas, Vedas, Shastras, many studies are on the tip of one's tongue. He can lecture on them eloquently. He can instantaneously say poetry. He gets many praises and titles. His mind doesn't set at the feet of Guru. Then what is the use? All these are a waste. Translation +/- : the atma(individual soul) is eternal and resides in the heart ...sri Guru is personification of paramatma(supreme soul) one has to live according to ones heart and follow the eternal(Sanatan) dharm. So i'm concluding that our future generations probably will reach very high ages! And perhaps spacetechnologie-sientists could do research in this field...if they arent researching it already!
