Guest guest
Jai Guru Datta, dear Datta family, when i read 1 or 2 of the recent mails i didnt want to respond becasue 1) observing mauna is better // 2) and becasue it was Sri Dattatreya Jayanti (a holy day)..3) other reasons.(...see below quote[1]). .................... Actually Hindu is a name given to us (like negro)...and it is not a name which can be found in scriptures. What we all are is followers of the Sanatan Dharm (or the Eternal dharm). We "all" are for the simple reason that we all have atma. Thats 1. 2. Calling people fundamentalist or other names...or saying not to post to this list is to my meaning not in accordance with our dharm. Why ...because we should help people all people if they need us. Dont forget that this is Sri Swamiji HIS list. If something bad is put to the list Prasadji or some list-moderator will take care of it. Just ignore. If you dont want to help persons you can just ignore--observe mauna (see below quote[2]&[3]). 3. We should respect all religions.... they are also part of the Sanatan dharm. However this doesnt take away the fact that the churches have a lot of power this cant be denied. And that many people use the islamic faith 4 horrible attacks.... The Swaminarayan temple complex attack in Akshardham was very difficult for me. .................................... Enough said...this is not a lecture or something i'm sharing thoughts with my Datta family members. It is easily said but very hard to realise it all in practice. So in responce to this mail please try to observe mauna. .................................. Quote[1]//It is Sri Swamiji’s advice that it is better to be in Mauna (Silence) than to speak non stop and speak unimportant and irrelevant things//Only speak good and truth.//Don’t have negative thoughts. This is a test for Datta devotees// ........................... Quote[2]//The Lord says in the Gita: "Among things profound I am "silence". Observing silence leads to meditation in depth which will verily give a vision of the Lord to the devotee. ............................ Quoe[3]//The three cardinal virtues are: do not see evil ; do not hear evil; and do not speak evil. Sri Ganapathi Tatwa reveals this. His small eyes teach people to shut their eyes to evil, the fan like ears to winnow off all worthless hearing, the trunk on the mouth to ward off all evil talk. ............................ 'DHARMO RAKSHATI RAKSHITAH' ie Dharma protects those who protects Dharma. What follows you after death is only your Dharma and not your wealth or learning. .............................
