       I am forwarding this e-mail received from Vishnu Deonarine from

Trinidad updating the status of  the construction of the Temple and Hanuman

Statue. He is requesting financial support from USA and other countries to

complete the project on time before His Holiness arrives on June 2, 2003.

 

       You can send you contributions two ways:

 

       1) You can send your contribution directly to Trnidad to the address

given in the e-mail sent by Vsnu Deonarine. OR

 

       2) US devotees can send their contribution to Datta Yoga Center USA 

(to Baton Rouge address) indicating that this contribution is for the purpose

of Trinidad Project. When you send your donation by check please indicate

next to memo  "Trinidad Hanuman Project".  We will send the money to Trinida

with your name and amount sent so that they can submit the information to His

Holiness Sri swamiji. By sending this way,  your donation becomes tax

deductable.

How are you?  All the best for the New Year!

 

Persadie was in Trinidad over the weekend prior to Datta Jayanti.  He came to

view the works and assess our readiness for the Celebrations in June 2003. 

It was quite clear that the work would not be completed by June 2003 unless

10 more sculptors from Madras came in to assist the existing 13 sculptors

from India.  This effort has been activated.  The additional Sculptors would

be in Trinidad at the end of January.

 

Persadie also indicated that Sri Swamiji himself would be coming to Trinidad

in March 2003 to inspect the works again and then in June 2nd 2003 with an

entourage of Priests and Musicians for the consecration ceremony etc.

 

The bottom line is that we are in need of an urgent injection of funds.  He

appointed a small Finance and Construction Committee to raise the necessary

funds required  to complete the project and for the  celebration itself.

 

So far we have not solicited any funds from foreign devotees and on behalf of

the Dattatreya Yoga Centre, Trinidad, we are humbly and respectfully re

questing your kind assistance in mobilizing the devotees in your area.

 

Money orders, traveller's cheques, drafts etc. should be sent to:-

All cheques etc. must be made payable to DATTATREYA YOGA CENTRE.

 

Persadie has also made an appeal via Dattapeetham website but it was thought

that we should make a special appeal to you also since it is a  Trinidad

Project.

 

All the names of donees and amounts will be recorded and presented to Sri

Swamiji at the appropriate time.  Receipts for all cheques would be posted

out to the donees' addresses.  Of course it is expected that each cheque will

be accompanied by a note of the name and address of the sender.
