Translation of Sri Swamiji's speech in Chennai ashrama on 8/12/2002.

 

Chandi homa is performed to remove the sins that we make.( chandi homa was

performed in ashrama on that day)

 

further he gave the meaning for the bajan Chandi chandasuradamani.

 

pallavi: chandi chanda sura damani

Kanditha papa bhava janani

 

sins are of two types.They are sins committed physically and mentally. The sins

committed physically can be excused. There are lot of punishments to correct it.

Committing a sin mentally is the worst one.

 

It is the nature of the mind to always Question & many doubts arises. The mind

is always disturbed.many useful & useless questions arises.

 

light & sound travels fast and they can be measured.The concord flight travels

faster then sound.The light from the Stars reaches us. But human mind travels

faster then everything else.

 

Even if we try to sit idle all bad thoughts occupy our mind. We always think

about Kama Krodha Ego and Hunger. No one thinks about God.Every one is more

interested and bothered about their footwear.

 

In this world land stretch is only 1/3rd and water occupies 2/3 of the

space.Everyone keeps talking about PRALAYA (destruction) JALA PRALAYA, AGNI

PRALAYA etc. Devi cleans the earth by pralaya.

 

Our mind is not pure at all.If you visit some peoples house you will come to

know.Their house will be deserted. They are very lazy.

 

Can you be like this?we should do work.We should do our work regularly.wile

taking bath we should not ask others help for taking the towel and soap.wherever

you see mosquitoes and bad smell.The other members in the family should keep the

house neat & clean.

 

These lazy people are only Chandasuras.you should kill laziness.Some people

comment that ah! I'm 80 years old I have lot of physical problems.What can I do

for their Karma.why do they suffer? due to lack of Bhakti ( Devotion).If they

look at this ashrama they will think how did they raise such a big ashrama? how

much of fund would have they collected? will they pay tax? they think only about

these things.Why do you think about such things?Why do you have such a disturber

mind like that of a monkey.

 

This is Guru's house.This is your house.You should get involved in it in a good

manner.

 

If we visit a friends house and see their couch and sofa immediately we think

about it's price and we think how there managed to collect the huge amount to

build the house.If they hear a song sung by a great singer they will comment

about it.No one praises him/her.Our mind do not wish to praise them.

If we talk ill of others it is a great sin. it is also a great sin to hear ill

about others.what is the meaning for "Kanditha papa bhava janani?'' it consists

Beejaksharas. She removes the sins. She gives the right medicines to remove our

sins. even sins committed without our awareness is being destroyed by her.

 

If we visit a temple, we have a dharshan of the Goddess.something happens in our

mind.We don't know what had happened but if we get the dharshan all our problems

vanishes.She showers her blessing upon us.

 

Bhajans gives us fruit.It protects us.It gives happiness.When Chandeeshwari

resides in our heart She destroys our sins and blesses us with pure heart.we

should try to cleanse our mind everyday.we should destroy our EGO.

If our mind is polluted all the mantras we chant; all the poojas we perform goes

fruitless.therefore it is our primary duty to keep our mind pure. it is only

ABYASA.it should be started from today.

 

She is the cause of every action in us.she sits in yagas, homas etc.let us prey

her with pure mind.
