Guest guest
it is not always the same thing if two people (seem to) say the same. one may have truly experienced something another one may not have yet. ponder on this. don´t want any discussion on it! everyone should be the judge of his own consciousness as sree peyyeti has said. ... jgd. Guest guest
Again, do not misunderstand what i'm saying here -- when I say don't simply "quote" scripture -- I mean to say that you MUST feel what it means, don't just intellectualize the guru gita, and repeat verbatim and say that I understand. Repetition is well and good -- but more importantly, the information should be absorbing into your very actions and your very life; if not, then no amount of repetition or anything else is of any use. One has to read the Guru Gita, etc. etc. etc. -- but it should not stop with 'reading' and 'memorizing'. It should stop with utter mental 'silence' -- when the answers come so fast, that the questions stop. That is, when you have a doubt, immediately the answer clears the doubt, leaving you utterly tranquil and doubtless. This is real understanding, not simply memorizing the text and consoling yourself with words. So, my point is to be careful that we do not fool ourselves into memorizing things. Memorization and understanding have nothing to do with one another. A computer can memorize the Guru Gita far better than we can -- but it doesn't mean the computer has attained "Moksha" -- think about the fundamental difference between how a computer functions and how we function -- and you will start to understand the subtle difference i'm talking about. ______________________________ The centipede was happy quite until a bird said, in fun, "Which foot goes after which?"
