AN APPEAL TO ALL DATTA DEVOTEES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW GURU NILAYAM AND

KUMBABISHEKAM OF THE SRI ADIGURU DATTATREYA TEMPLE, CHENNAI ASHRAM, INDIA.

 

It was decided during Sri. Sri. Swamiji's visit to the Chennai ashram in

December 2002, to construct a new Guru Nilayam, priest's quarters, a larger

kitchen, and also conduct the Kumbabishekam of the Sri Adiguru Dattatreya

Temple as the 12 year cycle is being completed this year (2003).

 

The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Guru Nilayam is

scheduled on April 14, 2003 (Tamil New Years Day). Along with the

construction of the new Guru Nilayam, other construction activities will also

be started, and the activities connected with the Kumbabishekam of the Datta

temple will start in August/September 2003. The break-up of the estimated

construction costs for all proposed construction is given below:

Guru Nilayam related Work

 

1. Guru Nilayam -- Floor Area –– 2000 Sq Ft.

(Rate of Construction is estimated at Rs. 800/ per sq

ft. Rs. 1,600,000) * It is requested that devotees can

contribute for 10sq ft or in multiple there of.)

2.Wall paneling for GURU NILAYAM is estimated at Rs.

planning to have all the construction activities completed by December 2003,

in time for the Kumbabishekam of the Sri Adiguru Dattatreya temple in

December 2003. All devotees are requested to contribute liberally for this

important project.
