Guest guest
The notion that one is a Guru, and the other is a disciple is the product of ignorance. The only difference is that one (Guru) knows who He is, and the other (disciple) believes himself to be a samsari jeeva. As long as one remains ignorant, the relationship of Guru and disciple becomes necessary. The moment one transcends ignorance the bondage caused by it will be snapped, and then there will be no Guru and no disciple. The wise ones usually give the analogy of the coconut in such cases. Coconut fresh from the tree looks very beautiful and nice, but it cannot be eaten as it is. To obtain the hidden kernel, the essence of the coconut, one has to remove the outer covering, and then the fibrous matter, and lastly the hard shell concealing the kernel has to be literally broken. In the same way, the blissful Self is hidden in the core of our personality. The layers of body, mind, intellect, and lastly the ego, have to be discarded. By erasing the ego one will be able to reach one´s inner core and realize the Bliss. It is ego that stands between you and bliss, which is your nature. The day that you eradicate the ego and its accessories is the real birthday. Then alone the celebration will be meaningful. May Sri Dattatreya and Bhagavati Rajarajeshwari shower their choicest blessings on all of you.
