Guest guest
He does not possess mind (He is Amanaska). Still He causes the minds of the noble to evolve. He induces in them, the interest on that divine light which is beyond the realms of mind. He bestows the Manonmanee Vidya. I prostrate to that Lord Dattatreya, who is devoid of mind. Guest guest
from Sri Datta Dhyaana Maalikaa: "...He induces in them, the interest on that divine light which is beyond the realms of mind. ..." According to my sanskrit dictionary, Diwali stands for Deepaavali, "row of light", i.e for the Festival of Lights, which symbolizes the victory of one´s good tendencies over one´s bad tendencies. In a deeper sense, in my opinion, it can also hint at, see below, "that divine light which is beyond the realms of mind." which is not a physical light to be perceived with the senses or with the mind, but is the cessation of all phenomena, see below. "Turiya is not that which is conscious of the inner (subjective) world, nor that which is conscious of the outer (objective) world, nor that which is conscious of both, nor that which is a mass of consciousness. It is not simple consciousness nor is It unconsciousness. It is unperceived, unrelated, incomprehensible, uninferable, unthinkable, and indescribable. The essence of the Consciousness manifesting as the self (in the three states), It (Turiya) is the cessation of all phenomena; It is all peace, all bliss, and non-dual. This is what is known as the Fourth (Turiya). This is Atman (Self), and this has to be realised. " (Mandukya Upanishad, Verse 7) It is Sat Chit Aananda. JGD [three states mentioned above: waking state, dream sleep, deep sleep. so the fourth, Turiya, is underlying the other three.]
