Invitation for 3rd (Annual) Brahmotsavam

 

It is our pleasure to invite you, the Datta Devotees to this sacred

Sripadavallabha Anagha Datta Kshetram, Pithapuram for the 3rd Annual

Brahmotsavam. With the divine Blessings of His Holiness Sri Ganapati

Sachchidananda Swamiji, the annual festivities are conducted from Magha Suddha

Dasami the 18th February (Friday) to Magha Suddha Dwadasi the 20th February

(Sunday).

Let us recall the significance of this annual Brahmotsavam and connection

Dattatreya and Anagha Devi with the creator Brahma. (Please refer to Datta

Darshanam and Datta Puranam for complete details.) Brahma, the creator has

decided to create delusion (Avidya) in the creatures, so that the earlier holy

progeny - the sages who remained merged in the supreme consciousness, who could

continue their lineage or the Gotra Parampara. In course of contemplating on

Avidya, Brahma himself caught in the powerful Avidya or Maya. It was an

accident, for which Brahma himself was instrumental and responsible. He was very

ashamed for his sorry state. At this juncture, Brahma has sought light from the

Adiguru, Dattatreya Swamy. Sri Dattatreya through his consort Goddess Anagha

Devi, blessed Brahma. And soon, the Divine knowledge of Vedas resurrected in his

intellect and he was able to re start the process of creation. On this occasion,

Brahma worshipped Dattatreya Swamy along with Anagha Devi. That was the ceremony

conducted by Brahma himself.

Now, with the divine instructions of Pujya Swamiji, 3rd Brahmotsavam is

celebrated. Every morning, Abhishekam with Panchamrutas, Kalasas with Waters

from Sea and Rivers; Pancha Gavyam, Tailam would be conducted. Special Homas

such as Anagha Lakshmi Homa, Dattatreya Homa, Navagraha & Maha Ganapati Homa,

Laksha Tulasi Puja, Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana on Bheeshma Ekadasi; Annadanam

to thousands of people and Free Medical camps are important events during these

3 days. We invite all the devotees to partake in these activities and be blessed

abundantly.
