Within My Dream

 

In my dream, I saw the water

Like walls of liquid bricks

With a million tongues that lick

Consuming & engulfing everything in sight

I was there, invisible to the destruction

Of the tsunamis, watching with detached awareness

Knowing everything was going to be alright

I was flying, floating above the ground

Safely out of harm's way

Watching with avid interest & mixed emotions

As the homes were washed away

Like miniatures in a puppet's play

Then I was back on solid ground

Watching from the rear porch of

A rented cabin at a resort

Perched upon a hill

And I felt the ground move & dance

Beneath my feet, suddenly

I felt as though I was on a boat

And the motion had betrayed my feet

I said goodbye to the two friends

Who were visiting me at the retreat

I felt a longing, a yearning,

As I wished them farewell

Upon the path that they walked upon

I said I felt as if I were losing

My two best friends

But I understood

It was time for them to move on

The dusky path lit up,

Illuminated by an invisible light

I turned away & walked in the direction

Opposite the flood, up the hill

And then I woke up…

I had difficulty describing my dream

To my best friend in the morning

One minute I was standing

On a back porch, on land

Then felt everything rocking beneath me

As if I were on the deck of a ship

And could barely even stand

Oh, how do I utilize this knowledge,

God, please help me understand

I realize how fleeting & precious

Every moment is,

How living in the moment

Seems harder than it is

How do I tell six countries

And every Soul connected

In this cosmic web of life

That not a single Soul was lost

That there's life after life

How can I share,

So everyone can see I care,

You are not alone in your loss,

You are across the ocean,

I am here, yet I am there

And a multitude of other places

I've touched the faces of our loved ones

Affected by this devastation

I've given them my blessings & prayers

Their lives are not lost, they live on,

Washed by the healing waters of Mother Earth

Re-created by the energy of Shiva the Destroyer

No longer bound to this earth

The Angels of mercy were on hand

To assist in the transformation

>From human to universe

Our loved ones do live on

They hear your cries of pain

They've been from whence they came,

But they do not feel the pain

I was there,

I saw everything

While watching from

Within my dream
