Sometimes, in the heat of passion [this could mean any kind of passion which grips us] we might conceive of great projects and we might latch onto things that have the potential to hurt us. Perhaps this is the case with Parvati? I don't know what her motives were. But it seems like she might have wanted to create and control something and it might have come back on her. I sure don't mean to sound ignorant here. But this is what it seems like to me. Bill
Guest guest
Namaste Eminent Friends, May I tell an irrelevant but true story? When I was a toddler, we lived a few doors from a family in the hotel industry. The house-holder had a wife and 6 children with her. All his children were normal except for the 4th child, a mentally retarded son. From the time of the birth of the 4th child, the family fortunes and coffers skyrocketed. The wife could not stand the sight of her 4th son although he was permitted to live within the house by the order of the Husband/ Householder. The man took very loving and affectionate care of this 4th child. Whenever he returned home from business, his first duty was to feed, bathe and clothe this child. Without fail. Later he wearied of his wife, acknowledged, and befittingly installed his mistress who subsequently bore him 2 sons. They were normal kids too. Upon his deathbed, the Householder only asked for his 4th child to be brought to him. This son, though completely and clinically mentally retarded, shed rivers of tears in bidding his father farewell. After the man's passing, the 4th son was beaten by siblings and sent to an institution. From then on, the family fortunes eroded to zilch. One facet of Lord Ganapati's many forms? Most likely.
