Guest guest
> RESPECTED ALOBAR, Well , i do agree GOD is infinite ,if any term be used for it.also ,i agree that INFINITE ENCOMPASSES all views !!!! & freind ,am not against POLYTHEISM but what actually cud hv been the reason of polytheism ,? IMO , if one goes thru the aspects of different deities ,we tend to find each (mostly)represents a different quality!!! then at same time each has many forms which though apprehending with the main quality of the specific DEITY ,also encompass other qualities !!!!! SO what i would term it as MONOTHEISM TO POLYTHEISM & POLYTHEISM TO MONOTHEISM. or one can say FROM FINITE TO INFINITE & INFINITE TO FINITE!!!! also ,i wud like to recall here a story which have come thru in different forms from ALL OF MY MENTORS . once ,there were 4 people travelling in a boat each of so called different religions Obe was SIKH who was totally devoted to SREE GURU NANAK ,ANOTHER A muslim TOTALY DEVOTED TO almighty ALLAH ,one a christian TOTYALLY DEVOTED TO LORD JESUS & one a highly learned BRAHMIN who had all his life just served GODS/GODDESS & nothing else. now somehow the boat starts sinking & the life of all 4 is in danger ,so they call their RESPECTIVE GODS in which they have faith but all 3 except the BRAHMIN ARE SAVED & the brahmin dies!!!!!! NOW ,once in the HEAVEN (!!!!!) the brahmin is not only surprised & astonished but SHOCKED over only him dying & such requests to see THE GOD & is allowed. on meeting THE BRAHMN puts his question HEY THE ALMIGHTY what was wrong with my devotion ,i passed each & every moment of my life taking ur names & offering poojas & did not even look at any female except that as a MOTHER while amongst other 3 were those who was married 3 times. i never in my life even ate where NNON VEG was to be seen while those three ate the flesh of ur creations ,a part of YOU & so on!!!!! On listening to the BRAHMIN THE GOD answers "hey BRAHMIN ,i agree that you did nothing tof what other 3 did bbut still you find urself here & soon to be put on trials & still snce u hv questioned me i'll clear ur doubt. well when the boat was aout to sink I heard the sikh sg ,WAHA GURU RAKSHA & since he all thru had unshakeable faith in me in form of GURU NANAK ,I immediately took the form ,held him & brought him to shore ,then i heard the CHRN REQUESTING being same reason I immediately took my form of JESUS & Rescued him & THE SAME WAS IN CASE OF OF muslim.I even wanted to help u & heard u calling me in form of JAGADAMBA , so i took the form & reached to help u but to my surprise on reaching there i found u did not hv faith in JAGDAMBA so were calling KALI now ,thus i came back changed my form & returned only to find u did not even have faith in KALI so were calling on me in form of RAM thus still being very happy with ur prayers thruout i took the form but again to my dismay now u were calling KRISHNA ,which again made me change my form ,to be again astonished on seeing you calling BHAIRAVA & BY the time i cud change my form YOU WERE DEAD!!!!!!!! wELL ,STILL i would say that ultimately all great SCHOLARS & SIDDHAS have come to conclusion of UNIVERSAL SOUL . wELL YOU MAY BE RIGHT THAT monotheism AS BEEN USED TO SUPRESS OTHERS BUT THE DEEDS OF SOME UNLEARNED SOULS SHOULD NOT BE THE BASIS OF MY BELIEF AT LEAST ! and then again ,i dont say i donot beleive in POLYTHEISM or am against MONOTHEISM but as earlier said "EK SE ANEK ,ANEK SE EK" MEANING FROM "ONE TO MANY & many to one" is the path of ultimate spirituality to me where all paradoxes end ,all differentiations end & i say "AHAM BRAHMA ASMIAHAM VEDAH" AHAM RUDRAH!!!!! tHEN AGAIN & FINALLY I WOULD SAY "TO EACH HIS OWN" & i definitely accept & honour ur views too & hope to learn more from ur vviews & thoughts. ,on second thoughts from this point of my view (accepting ur view) can say more thing "duality to oneness" regards rajat > I am afraid I must differ with you here, rajat. When dealing with the infinite, one single finite view cannot aprehend the infinite. Whether one says there i[s one God or several or many, or nne -- all seem (IMO) to miss this point. The infinite encompasses all views without contradiction or paradox. Difficult for us to apprehend, I know. Personally, I prefer an infinite number of distinct Gods & Godesses. For me, to say that all the Gods & Godesses are but aspect of ONE GOD is far too monotheistic for my taste. Not that it is wrong, per se, but that monotheism has been used in many places & times to opress those who believe differently. So it is just not my cup of tea. > > From my perspective, I like having many different independent Gods & Godesses. Not as aspects of a single deity, but each being as infinite & eternal as the others. I guess one would call me a pantheist. > > Alobar
