welcome jaeraeth,

i am Bill. i was so glad to read your post. it was special to me for

a few reasons:

1) your experience with the huge statue of ganesh. i too have had

similar experiences with huge images of ganesh, which i shared on

this site in my initial posts. his form also strikes me in the same

way, w a childlike sense of wonder. and he follows me. it seems that

everywhere i went last summer he was there. i saw him inside the coin

machine at my laundry mat, at a hotel in kansas, at a restaurant in

boulder, and finally at my friend kumar's house. then one day kumar

comes over and brings one to my house. hmmmmmm......gets around huh!

anyway i loved hearing about this.

2) your mention of avalokiteshvara. i just posted on this today. i am

trying to find out anything and everything i can about the bodhisattva

of compassion. i find that with the popularity of tibetan buddhism, i

am becoming more interested in the relationship that buddhism has to

india. i am also wondering about the evolution of avalokitesvara. for

some reason this has become almost as important to me as learning

about ganesh. i actually feel the same feeling when i learn about

either--like the same motivation is there. i feel that for me those

interests are related in some way.

3) Radiohead--love 'em.

Well, welcome aboard, hope you will stay, we have so many here who

you will like--as you could see with SY and Rajat today.

God bless, Bill
