maybe i can share something with all of you as well. >> Nice to meet ya! Hope

you can call in often. Very nice of you to make the full intro and share so

much with us.

i am an eclectic wiccan. >> Many of us are eclectics too. Some common

interests myself. Please feel free to post, discuss, share and teach. We

would be honored.i am relatively new to hinduism, only having plunged headfirst

into learning as much as i can about the religion in the past year or so. i've

always been fascinated by hinduism, but until recently, i've always been

daunted by the myriad intricacies surrounding the religion. for the past 6

years, i've been very drawn to buddhism, particularly the tibetan traditions,

and the vast world of information, enlightenment, etc. contained therein

occupied (and still does occupy) a sizeable corner of my heart and mind.

however, suddenly something sparked a desire within me to learn more about

hinduism, as well. from where this inspirational spark came, i have no clue,

but i must say that i am *very* glad that it made itself manifest. not too long

ago, i had a vivid flashback of a moment from around 8 years ago (around age

14). i was in a museum (i can't even remember where), and after entering a

room, found myself facing a huge statue of lord ganesha. i distinctly remember

feeling surrounded by an aura of peace and childlike wonder...all i could think

was "WOW." however, that memory got buried under years of subtly-enforced

catholicism, and not until recently did i remember. in my own personal path

as a wiccan, i have just recently began working with specific deities from

various cultures...for so long, i simply thought of the lord and lady as

powerful archetypes of one divine force, for which names were unnecessary.

however, i have discovered that by focusing on deities (or aspects of deities)

from other cultures gives me the benefit of specific "spiritual friends", if

you will, on whom to call, to talk to, to share with, etc., thereby forming a

more personal relationship with the divine. as to my own "personal pantheon",

i identify very strongly with Hecate, Pele, the Buddha, Amitabha,

Avalokiteshvara, and my concepts of "God" draw me very near to Krishna, Shiva,

and more strongly (of course), Lord Ekadanta himself. as for goddesses, i am

VERY drawn to hecate, but i am trying to learn as much as i can about various

hindu goddesses. so far, along this path, i seem to feel more closely aligned

with Ma Kali, Saraswati, and Parvati. my other interests are pretty

diverse...i'm about as eclectic as they come. other things i'm also into

include (but are not limited to): ferrets (i own 3 of the evil little weasels,

myself), African and Australian aboriginal cultures, herbalism, tarot, ritual

incorporation of music, especially electronic (goa trance ROCKS!), shamanism,

paranormal phenomena, vegetarian cooking, etc...basically lots and lots of

stuff. i'm also very interested in learning more about Reiki, Pranic Healing,

Tantra, and other forms of energy work. i go off on lots of tangents, so it's

hard to sum me up merely by my interests, as they're constantly changing. feel

free to mail me to see what they are *this* week. ;) well, that's my

introduction...i hope i haven't rambled *too* much. i look forward to getting

to know each of you here on the list, as well as to grow with and learn from

you upon my spiritual path, and hopefully give something to you in return.

thanks for listening... brightest blessings...om, shanti, shanti! jaeraeth

"I jumped into the river, black-eyed angels swam with me. A moon full of stars

and astral cars, and all the things i used to see. All my lovers were there

with me, all my past and futures, and we all went to heaven in a little

rowboat. There was nothing to fear, and nothing to doubt..."
