Guest guest
DEAR BILL, Well MUDRAS in english ,if translated ,i think would mean POSTURES. ACTUALLY mudras are different postures derived basically by using fingers mostly (& at times tongue & other parts)forming different shapes . the normal number of mudras by hindu text are 64 ,though ,they may exceed by tantric variations. by mudras ,one denotes different aspects of ritual eg AVAHAANI MUDRA (when invocating the GOD/DESS), yoni mudra (shown normally to FEMALE DEITIES ) yoni means VAGINA ,this mudra is also used by DAKSHIN MARGEES (right hand practitioners) if they wish to perform a ritual concerned with vagina & so on.... regards rajat , "Bill Rogers" <wondermagazine@a...> wrote: > Oi!
