Hello all. Today as I was reading through some things I noticed a

parallel idea that stuck out between the Skanda Purana 1.2.278-314

and Deuteronomy 28. To me these are like different passages that

convey the same principle. Devotion to God brings blessings, Lack of

interest in God brings curses. Anyway, just a comparison.

Skanda Purana-

 

For those who do not worship, who are intent upon lies and anger, and

are committed to fierce savagery, he [Ganapati] will create

obstacles. He will remove obstacles from those who revere the

traditions, knowledge and teachers. Without worshipping him all

actions and laws will become obstructed.

 

Deuteronomy-

 

If you fully obey the Lord your God [Adonai] and carefully follow his

commands I give you today.....these blessings will come upon you and

accompany you if you obey the Lord your God......However, if you do

not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his

commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will

come upon you and overtake you.
