Guest guest
Like yourself, I hope the Dalai Lama's words will be heard and praying for innocent Muslims and those of other religions and regions who happen to look Muslim and got attacked even though they are not terrorists. The mosque in our Queensland city of Brisbane was burnt down today. This is termed "Racial Crime". Strangely, it is the place which is most peaceful of all the mosques here and students only visited it days ago. The kids were of many different races which make up multiculturalism in Australia. They were taken on a school excursion to see how things work, how people pray, how peaceful they are, etc. You are right, the word "Islam" means "Submission" and in this regard, "Submission to God", not to warfare, fundamentalism, fanatism or extremism. I echo the rest of your thoughts too. Om Ganesh, Sy I liked Rajat's recent comments about religious wars. I hope that the Dalai Lama's voice does not go unheard on trying to avoid violence. I am using this opportunity to also pray for my brothers who are Muslim, since many of them are being disrespected and even persecuted because people are associating terrorism with Islam. It is sad to see this. Also, a Sikh, who is not even a Muslim was recently a victim of attack by persons who considered him to be a terrorist. it's too bad they judge by outward forms, like whether a man is wearing a turban. i know plenty of people who wear turbans who are not terrorists. this whole religion thing is very misunderstood. perhaps some terrorists have appealed to the term jihad and therefore claim to fight holy wars. but when i read the quran it seems to talk more about peace through submission to God. may all my brothers and sisters, of all faiths, turn to each other and demolism the walls that divide us and use the remains to build bridges of kindness, fraternity and charity. peace and happiness to all living things.billDo You ?
