Guest guest
Thank you for using the word "Salaam", it is also similar to the Jewish "Shalom" (I see the God in You). Islam forbids anthropomorphic images but nevertheless the mosques in Australia are dutiful places of worship, contemplation and meditation for sincere, peace-loving believers of the faith. These holy places were built in Australia with a lot of blood, sweat and tears, all efforts of sincerity for the congregation of peoples who seek to pray in peaceful brotherhood. Brisbane's mosque does not condone violence nor terrorist activities. But due to the ignorance of the locals, it was targeted. I haven't seen a more sincere group of Moslems in this country and Brisbane was the best, though it wasn't ritzy, in fact very humble. Those who laid the sincere foundations for that establishment, were devastated. The mosque was there yesterday but gone today. Once again, thanks for your lovely thoughts and wisdom in discerning the difference. Allah Maek (God be with you), Sy***********Sy, this is terrible! How sad! It is terrible to think that a great creation like a Mosque, which was put together in order to bring people in to a holy space (not the building, but the ordered space for conceiving of the Deity), was disrespected or misunderstood and destroyed. This is a shame. I will pray for the Muslims of Brisbane. You are right about Islam meaning submission. If you break the word down more it also is connected to the root for peace (salamm).
