Where do u stay ? does ne of ur friend visit india? if so ,they can carry it from here love, peace & compassion, universal brotherhood & humanity above all, manushyta parmo dharm, rajat namaste, rajat! i really hope my post on the possible purchase of ganga jal did not offend you. i completely understand where you are coming from, and your post made it even more clear. i realize the sacredness of the ganges in her role as mother, and perhaps should have tried to see it from a "tried and true" indian point of view...that selling of the water could perhaps be viewed as a form of prostituting or corrupting everything she stands for. at the same time, though, i have also read accounts of the poor selling earthenware and similar containers of ganga jal to pilgrims in order to make ends meet. is this a common thing? i would like nothing more than to have some ganga jal to use in ritual, to have a part of the sacred mother to adore, respect and honor, to feel the nearness of her presence. unfortunately, due to several factors, including my locale (florence, alabama, to be exact), financial situations, etc., a trip to india is definitely not a feasible option to me at this point, or anytime soon for that matter. also, i don't have any friends that travel to india, let alone any friends with more than a passing interest in indian culture, except for one, and she's in about the same predicament (financial, etc.) that i am at the moment. again, i truly hope i did not offend...if i did, it was most certainly not my intent. anyway, though, it was good to hear from you, and i hope to hear from you again soon. jai ganesha! jaeraeth / yarrow
