GURUDEVA'S HEALTH

On Saturday, October 6, Gurudeva was taken to the hospital after blood tests had

determined he was seriously anemic. Blood transfusions were immediately

administered and tests undertaken the following days to determine the cause of

the anemia. The test results and medical analysis from Kauai were subsequently

shared with two other eminent medical teams (three radiologists and two

oncologists) in Washington and California. All reached the same conclusion:

that Gurudeva has advanced colon cancer which has spread to several other parts

of the body. Thankfully, Gurudeva is in no pain at all, indeed he is comfortable

and radiant and has told us that he is in the final days and is preparing

consciously for the blessed passage known in our tradition as Mahasamadhi, the

Great Union. We bow before his courageous decision.

Gurudeva is too frail to receive devotees or any visitors at all. His 24

mathavasis are holding a 24-hour spiritual vigil at his side and looking after

him with limitless love. Everyone's prayers for a blessed and peaceful passage

are profoundly appreciated in the days ahead.Get your FREE download of MSN
