Namaste Denderah Luxor,

Welcome to the club, I would reccomend getting

the book Loving Ganesha By Satguru Sivaya Subramuniya Swami Himalayan

Academy Publications. This is a large book with Puja,Prayers,Mantra

and Ganesha Lore, you can order this this at any large book store or

thru http://www.HinduismToday.kauai.hi.us/ashram Another very good

puja book is Ganesa Puja Vidhi by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust I

ordered this book thru Nataraja Books e-mail address

natraja website www.erols.com/nataraja

In the mean time you can get a picture or

icon of Sri Ganesha place a lighted candle, incense and a flower

before it and offer a prayer from you heart, 2 mantras that are used

in His worship are Om Sri Ganesaya Namah and Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha

This should get you started. May the Remover of Obstacles guide and

protect you Jai Sri Ganesha !!!

I should clarify what I mean here. LOVING GANESA helped me in a few

ways:

1)it was an excellent source of information. Probably more

information on Ganesh than I have ever encountered in one place, save

perhaps Robert Brown's book GANESH: STUDIES OF AN ASIAN GOD.

2)LOVING GANESA approaches teaching in a way that also carries the

spirit of what is being taught. It is not just mere information. It

has the devotional strength to it that can really assist a seeker. I

especially love an almost childlike feeling I get when I read those

pages.

Another book that helped me learn alot about Ganesh, was not even a

text or a religious book. ONCE UPON AN ELEPHANT, a play by Canadian

writer Ashok Mathur, really helped me feel more connected to Ganesh.

Once again, enjoy the book, Bill
