Been through a busy few days and couldn't get on line. Glad to be back now! By the way the person assciated with Protiens, is Japanese? << Yes he is Japanese and he is into the Agama Sutras. He is a buddhist? << Yes, Buddhist. Elderly gentleman now. He once studied and experienced the monastic Shingo Buddhism (Esoteric Buddhism). Did you every hear of Japanese Hindus? << No. I read somewhere that Ganesha is worshipped by some in Japan. << Yes but rare to find. I am pretty sure there are some ancient carvings (stone I believe) of Ganesh in Japan. And interestly there are cults in China that worship Ganesha,<< Haven't heard about the cults, do you have info at hand that you can share, if not please think no more of it. but not as the remover of obstalces, but the provider of obstacles! << Not too sure about that because there were also some ancient artefacts (if I remember correctly) unearthed in China, of Ganesh. Being a "communist" nation, and after centuries of various imperial rules, plunders, pillages and atrocities, many such things would have been destroyed through the ages by one dynasty or other. There is more to China's "true" history (I tend to think), than meets the eye. Many pandora boxes not opened or simply destroyed for time immemorial. Like how they blasted the world's tallest/biggest cliff-face carving of Buddha in Afghanistan last year. Something along those lines. It is interesting to note that Japanese children do not often learn of the atrocities during World War II as their history books are "tailored". Likewise for China. I can't say much more than that due to Chinese "legalities" and certain protocols. Gotta say that China has come a long way since the days of the Dowager Empress and the "Last Emperor". Of course, kids are cruel (but interestingly I have not heard of such teasing and tauting in India), but it stems from parents, cause how would kids know such is right or wrong, good or bad? Parents too must be knowledgeable and teach their kids about differences in the world. I guess it is changing.<<<<< You are right about the parents. Kids should be taught at home by "well-informed" parents as well as at school by the education system. A lot of kids pick up racial or religious intolerance at home where the parents instil these into them via speech and perhaps even actions. In my next post, I will send along something which demonstrates a fine example of a Sri Lankan Hindu youth in Australia who founded the "Hindu Youth Association" in Sydney. The "HYA" visits schools and community places to give talks and participate in several community projects to "educate" others about Sanatana Dharma. They also donate books to libraries across Australia. Their patron was the late Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami.
