Guest guest
Dear Rick and list, Thanks Rick! I looked at so many sites I couldn't remember which one I had found that at. Isn't it beautiful? I set it on continuous play. She has such a beautiful voice. Yes, I know there are mantras for each planet. Do you use all of them each day or do you use the one for the planet associated with that day? And yes, please, I would like to know about the site with the 108 names for each planet. I may already have it marked, but again, I've looked at so many sites it would probably take me a while to find it again even if I did. I did have a gemstone recommendation made, but I guess maybe I'll have to wait and see if Ganesha breaks down some financial barriers before I can invest in one . I'd rather really put some decent money into it and get quality. Did you like the Ganesha site? I frequently put it up first when I go online and have it running in the background. It helps as a reminder and as a focus. But I wish they hadn't changed to the background music; there were bells before that I really liked. (Drove other people around me nuts though!) And thanks for mentioning that book. I've heard of it before and definitely plan on getting a copy. Also that's a really wonderful list of bookmarks this group has accumulated. Very impressive! Guest guest
Hello again Leopards Skin, Well I suppose for the benefit of everyone else in the group it is worth posting the link for the 108 Names for each of the planets here: http://www.p-g-a.org/mantra.html This is for the Planetary Gemologists Association, I know how great that sounds. It's really the #1 organisation to look to for information regarding wearing/buying gemstones and there use with Vedic/Jyotish astrology. There is some other great information posted on this site and once you know what you gemstone prescription is then you really will find it useful. To say 108 Names of a particular planet would take 3-5 minutes once you familiarise yourself with the language and pronounciation (unlike other sites I have seen at least they are in a format that you can read!). So, you are not going to be taxed time-wise to repeat the names say twice a day. Its definitely worth it. You can repeat the shorter 2-3 line planetary mantras which I think you know already and say them for all planets if you wish, however it would probably also be better to put a greater focus on your particular afflicted planet/s. For example I do extra prayers/mantras on Friday for Venus, I also fast completely on this day so as I can please the particular planetary deity. Is this a waste of time and complete nonsense? I don't think so....As for the 'Charity' part on gem donation on the PGA site I don't think many people can afford to give away a precious gemstone! By the way if you are thinking of buying gemstones the site contains a list of very reputable dealers: http://www.p-g-a.org/pgs.html And the 'Lord Ganesha' book - several months ago I didn't think much of it when my sister handed it over to me enthusing and gushing over it, several months of use later, and having repeated the Ganesh's 1000 Names daily I can tell you my attitude is quite different! The book also contains detailed english information on doing your own puja/pooja which you could manage every month/few months. There are also a list of other mantras for particular problems - I seen these copied in a book titled 'Lord Ganesa'. After some time I think you too will come to realise this particular book is like gold dust. Email me if you require any further advice/help.
