Guest guest
Sorry for having been "away" for several days; been pretty off-color and low on metabolism but will try and get back as often as I can. We did go to an Odissi dance. Sorry if I already mentioned this- it was fabulous. The man danced with such devotion to Lord Jagannathan. (Orissa and North Indian god) I met a Tamil family there- and hopefull can get Tamil lessons from someone! There is a new temple opened up near by and maybe thinking of Going for Ramanavami.<<<<< Always lovely to hear your news and activities, keep us posted please Jen, thanks.I haven't lived in North- how long did you stay? <<<<< Five months between Patna and Calcutta. Once got on the then "Toofan Express" (steam train). Then to Delhi and twice to Nepal (one month). Loved Kathmandu, Lake Pokhara and Swayabunath. Kathmandu at the time was very unspoilt and rather "untouched" by Western culture although there were lots of "Flower Children" from around the world; even a couple of Japanese hippies. Many sold their jeans, watches, air tickets, frisbees, etc. to the locals. Coca Cola and jeans were apparently (at the time) only available to the "privileged" and on the "black market".
