Guest guest
Namaste! I have been studying all of the pictures of Ganesha that I can find on the internet, and of course most of them are pretty much the same. Some perhaps are a little different in style and use of colours, but basically the same representation. There are only a few that I have found to be quite different, and these portray Ganesha as quite skinny as opposed to the big belly. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these 'skinny Ganeshas.' leopards_skin
Guest guest
Hi! I have not seen the Skinny Ganesha I don't think? Is there one in our files? I do not know about that- but I do know that sometimes Ganeshas made in Northern (mountians) India and Nepal have a skinny trunk. Not sure of the symbolism, but usually these types are from there only. In addition- I have heard (but not well studied on this) that in each type of representation Ganehsa holds different implements. Praying to a Ganesha with certian implements means he has different 'powers' or 'strenghts' in that pose holding those certian Items. Does anyone in the group know or have heard about this?
