Guest guest
Great to see you around! Please, there is no need to apologise for not posting. Everyone here turns up at their own pace and convenience, just as Ganesha bestows favours in His own sweet time...... I read somewhere that Lord Shiva often appears to his devotees in the form of a dog. So there you go! You worship Ganesha and there's a bonus that His "dad" is also looking after you and guarding you. If you "offerings" be in the form of walkies to placate Wolfie, then Shiva ain't asking too much I guess :-) And you're indeed blessed that Shiva is benevolently playful and generous in that He brings you what He feels are "treats" even they be rabbits, possums or racoons, ya lucky gal! Rabbits in Australia.....! Plenty of them where the farmers don't want them, hence the reduction in numbers at certain locations. They had to get all the necessary permissions to eradicate what they consider as pests ruining their properties. Unfortunate but true that these aren't our usual lovable cuties. In recent times, I hear they get rid of them as humanely as possible. Thanks for telling us you're in Detroit! Wow! I would never have guessed. The heat wave - hope it hasn't been too bad. Great to hear you're now into bonework carving and would like to try your hand at making a head of Ganesha. In time, your devotion will pay off as the Lord Himself will guide your hand. Have faith and persevere. Looking forward to the day when you say "Yes, yes, yes! I've done it!".. Jai Shri Ganeshaya Sy leopards_skin <leopards_skin (AT) wild-at-heart (DOT) co.uk> wrote: Sulk? Sulk? LOL, sulk ain't the word for it! The End of the World... thou shalt die of guilt! It's terrible, I don't dare not walk him, lol. I have some not very good shots of the lovely blizzard we had last winter. I have a few good shots of the rainbow that appeared in the middle of a downpour last weekend. I think you get my drift here... :)I've heard about rabbits in Australia, but they're not that bad here (especially since Wolfie moved into the neighborhood!) There's no need to go and systematically reduce their numbers. He can only catch the little ones usually now, which is not nice to see really. If he catches a rabbit he disappears with it, since it's tasty and he won't give up what he catches. Raccoons is another thing he's fond of, but I'll spare everyone the REALLY not nice details on that... Opossums are another thing he catches, but actually brings back, since once they play dead they aren't any fun anymore.I'm afraid I can't tell you about U.K. summers, since it's just my email service that's U.K. based :-) I can tell you Detroit sucks LOL... we're about to hit a heat wave with lots of humidity and last week it was cool and the nights were really cold (for this time of year.) It goes up and down like mad.------------------The heat wave has been horrible but it is suppose to 'sort of' go away for a bit, so perhaps I will be able to get myself into gear. I am working on learning carving - bonework. I had this brilliant idea of how nice it would be to make my first piece the head of Ganesha... hahaha! After messing about a bit I thought maybe I'd start with something a little less ambitious like maybe a dolphin (for a friend), hahaha... I call it my "Disturbed Shark" lol! I'm afraid Ganesha will have to wait quite a while for me to attempt carving. I wouldn't want to do him an injustice and him to turn into Buddha knows what! (Then He might turn me into Ganesha knows what!)I am not caught up yet on all the posts, but Wow! the Heramba Ganapati's are absolutely killer! (I was wanting to carve just one little head, no more, that's all, lol.) Thanks very much for posting the links for those! Ganesh bless,Stark New!
