Guest guest
The Manakkula Vinayaka temple in Pondicherry The city of Pondicherry is well-known among hindu people for this famous temple, where important pilgrimages and festivals are celebrated. Like in other places of the Tamil Nadu region, for instance Chidambaram or Suchindram (among several others), the main forms of Ganesha are painted on the walls or ceilings. In the Manakula temple, they are walls. Those images show us an obviously interesting panorama of the iconography related to this god. However, some minor differences can occur when we compare those paintings with the "classical" forms described in ancient scriptures. Other painted sceneries illustrate legends related to god Ganesh, his exploits, his parents (to come later). 1 to 10 11 to 20 21 to 30 31 to 40 To Page top Home page Visit the siteTravel in India Votez au WebOrama To fill the form Webmaster mailganapati (AT) club-internet (DOT) fr http://perso.club-internet.fr/ganapati/imgdiv/amanakula.htmlDo You ?
