Guest guest
SY: G'day Bill, How's Tampa these days? Bill: Great, very rainy and flat and the urban sprawl is just terrible, but overall, I love it. SY: Was that the Herbal one? I'm still waiting for my copies to arrive in Ozland. Bill: No it was the 'magic' one. I had read last year's and now picked up this year's and there you were. Lucky me. Bill: I am very torn now because there are a couple books by them that I want, but I have to choose. SY: Fret not brother. Mind telling me the titles? Bill: Well, I don't know the exact titles. One is on Ostara and another is on American Folk Magic. I'm not really into 'magic' per se, but I do like the 'hex sign' information in there. I have a beautiful 'hex sign' in my home which gives the traditional Wilkom greeting! SY: My main love is the cycle of the year. Two things I love to study: cosmologies and cycles of the year. << I'm in the southern hemisphere and ya're in the northern hemisphere. Wanta elaborate more? Maybe we can compare a few notes here. Btw, India is actually within the Northern Hemisphere if this happens to interest you. Bill: I actually know little about the way Indians view the world or time or the yearly cycle. I know sooooo little of it, only that Ganesh Chaturthi comes near this time of year which is near the observance of Mabon (?????). Anyway, I don't know much about Celtic or Indian ways of viewing time and space. I do know alot about Native American, Jewish and Catholic time. Protestants basically view time through the Jewish/Catholic lens, but they sometimes slip into a sort of modern error that removes the sacredness from their calendars. I am happy to say that Protestants are becoming reenchanted with a sacred view of time and space and I feel this will tear down unnecessary walls between them and Catholics and Jews. I admit that I know little about the Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain views of time. Calendars fascinate me. Also, I would love to learn more about Dreamtime and the cosmologies of Oceania. SY: If you happen to mean the "M.F.M." piece (instalment), that's been cancelled due to 9/11. All was going ahead till that happened. Cuz it contained some info (though harmless) on the world's currently least favorite and probably most misunderstood religion (thanks to fanatics, terrorists and fundamentalists, etc.) Bill: You lost me here w "M.F.M.". I'm assuming that it has something to do with Muslims. I know little about Islam other than some basic facts. But I don't know about their sacred time. Bill: SY, Thanks for your enthusiastic response to my letter. By the way, I have had some interesting Ganesh incidents lately. My friend Kumar had gone to India and brought about a dozen Ganesh images back for me, which was odd, since I never asked for them. So, I had a house full of blessings and prayers Kumar brought back w him. Also, at work, I had worn a medal he had brought me which had Ganesh on it. This enabled me to speak to a few people about Ganesh. Also, we had been praying before my art show about a difficulty we were having in actually hanging the work. It was a physical problem. Well, I had been keeping all these prayers in my mind and just sort of giving the whole art show to God. Well, when the time came to hang the show the problem simply resolved itself and what would have turned out as a very weak show visually, became powerful and striking with alot of visual impact. I believe that when we pray, obstacles are removed. I am happy for this. Blessed be, Bill
