Consider too: "hex" meaning "six" is central too to the Yi King, whose sublime wisdom is expressed in 64 HEXagrams. "Hex," I've thought for a long time, is one of English's stranger words...it has a pure arithmetical - i.e., six - meaning but it is also used in a magickal context...as when one puts a hex on someone. Or wards off a hex. Of course the root hex from which we all suffer is the illusion that we and Divinity are not-One. I find that Ganesha is real good at warding off that one...
