Guest guest
The mountain behind Ganesh? That's where Shiva lives. The murthi? It's a little statue that came my way this week. Thai, I believe. It fascinates me in that G is shown in the posture one normally expects of Hanuman, but they get the one-tusk part absolutely right. Many Ganesh images screw this up. This little bronze guy is about to be treated royally...I have a special Tibetan reliquary wherein he'll reside. The only open question is which set of rune stones I'll fill it with. In the meantime, he's waving (in the quantum sense) like mad...and we've been gettin it on all evening. Guest guest
RESPECTED SHREE SCOTT, "I don't know if the mantra is canonical or not; "ekadanta" means "one tusk" and is one of G's names. I gather that "-ye" is a Sanscrit name ending to indicate the vocative case; i.e., I made the mantra up but it may just be utterly in synch with tradition...and I would appreciate confirmation or correction from our Hindu buddies" ******** HEYYY cmon , stop pulling our legs you know it its very much right mantra !! grrrrrrrrrr well roughly "EKDANTAAYE" means the one with one tusk , as to reasons of one tusk or stories revolving around it are many so no use going over that , lol! oh yeah , i recall , also "OM Ain(g) EKDANTAAYE NAMAH " is also another mantra (with another variation with samputa of OM Aing ie " Om Aing Ekdantaaye Namah Aing OM " ) are the two variations of the mantra which are considered to be knowledge giving , they are mainly given to young school children which is said that if they recite regularly , would help them learn things faster . well , then neways normally one can derive different results from one single mantra by just varying the initial beej mantra or samputas. And anyways , who knows better then you or SY that mantras formed by oneself are always much more powerful as they already have connection direct to our own energy . & hey man , who hindus are u talking of ? i think the guys on the west side are more hindus in these grps then the ones on east (well , for me hinduism is no religion ) regards JAI AMBEY MAHAKALI, rajat
