Guest guest
I have uploaded a file called ganesh-padma.jpg where Ganesha sits in the middle of this old picture and is surrounded by Buddhas. At least I recognize Padmasambhava, Guru Rimpoché on the right upper side... Best wishes Barbara
Guest guest
I think they're ALL manifestations of Padmasambhava, who manifests in countless forms...it's hard to tell though...this is a very old thanka...btw, it should be noted that Padmasambhava left a lot of written teachings, and hid them all over Tibet as well, where they were found from time to time (he also hide teachings in our minds but that's a topic for another time)...whilst the Tibetans revered these teachings highly, they were NEVER admitted to the official Buddhist canon. A select few have been translated competently into English but only scholars and lunatics (like me) take an interest in them. There is a sublime, intimate link between Padmasambhava and Ganesh...I often suspect they're the same entity, transcending form and categories... Guest guest
Hey Scott, I am a lunatic like you then...I am aware of the terton tradition of hidding and finding precious teachings all over the world...I specially like this text: "Self-Liberation through Seeing with Naked Awareness"... I don´t have compiled all of those texts, I am not even sure on where to find the translations...I think many of them are compiled by Yesge Tsogyal I believe? If you have them, could you send me some by email? aqesa Thanks! All the best Barbara
Guest guest
Do a search on "Herbert Guenther", the fantastic translator from the 70's on...if google or amazon don't turn up anything, go to abe.books Warning: Guenther assumes a very high degree of literacy and intelligence from his readers, as did the lamas who wrote the texts, and his translations are NOT an easy read. I got about 20 pages into one over a year ago and had to quit and let it simmer...the bad news is it's still simmering...the good news is that I'm about to return...for all this Ganesh/Shiva stuff has been chucking out clues... , "aqesa" <aqesa> wrote: > Hey Scott, I am a lunatic like you then...I am aware of the terton > tradition of hidding and finding precious teachings all over the > world...I specially like this text: "Self-Liberation through Seeing > with Naked Awareness"... Guest guest
Well yes...Evan Wenz´s books are aswell some how complicated...not his introductions to the buddhist texts, wich are great introductions, but the texts themselves... One I particularly liked of his "Tibetan book and secret doctrines", is the Yoga of the Long Hum...but if you dive in the text, its somehow incompleted and you have to use your intuition to imagine how the yoga works....or at least, you have to find out yourself how do we transform the five "poisons" into the five qualities of the enlightened mind... the most funny of all is that, at the end of the text, they say:"may the secret of the vajra heart be known in this lifetime"... its a secret we are only going to tell you a little bit...the rest you find out yourself or maybe not...lol! Well, that´s life... Thanks for the reference of Herbert Guenther I hope there is something free on the net cause I am not in a good economic situation right now... Love Barbara
