Full Moon was last Sunday, October 20th, Scott. Monday the 28th is the

<ashtami> (eighth night) of the waning Moon. What calendar are you

looking at?

Looking forward to Saturday, November 2nd, which in Bengali tradition is

Kali Puja day. Last waning crescent of the Moon, Kali Ma's curved sword,

all honor to the Dark Mother.

Next evening, Sunday, November 3rd, is Feast of Lights <Deepavali>, in

honor of Lakshmi, goddess of abundance. Light lamps in your windows to

draw Her to your home, offer Her dried fruits and nuts, ask for blessings

on your business endeavors.

(O goddess, established on a lotus-seat/

true-form of supreme-Brahman/

supreme queen and mother of the world/

Great Lakshmi, we bow to Thee!)

There must have been a time (pre Stone Hedge and the like, I guess) when the

equinoxes and solstices would have been so determined too.

So you ask what calendar am I using? Answer: mine.
