Guest guest
Hi brothers and sisters, I found yesterday this web where it is said that Ganesha is called Child of the Pleiades...I wonder what does that means...I vibrate quite a lot with something that I can´t trully explain but it has to do with a "place" somewhere in space (space=mind) where there are childs, fully enlightened childs and that somehow we form part of it aswell...perhaps its a way of "my" mind portraying our inner child or our buddha nature a kind of buddha land where our pure child nature "lives". I was nontheless chocked about this idea of Ganesha being a child of the Pleiades...if anyone has a hint please give feedback! http://www.davedavies.com/splanet/temple.htm Love Barbara
Guest guest
The cluster of seven stars in the constellation Taurus which is known as the Pleiaides in the West is called Krittika in Sanskrit. They are seen as Seven Sisters who adopted Ganesha's brother, Skanda. (Baby Skanda grew six heads so he could suckle from six of the sisters at once -- the eldest sister was past the ability to nurse babies.) Skanda is called Kartikkeya (Child of the Krittikas) as a result. I don't know of this title being applied to his elephant-faced brother as well. > ...somewhere in space (space=mind) where there are childs, > fully enlightened childs... Where are you from, Barbara? I would point out that the plural of "child" in English is "children." -- Len/ Kalipadma On Sun, 10 Nov 2002 10:12:28 -0000 "aqesa" <aqesa writes: > Hi brothers and sisters, > > I found yesterday this web where it is said that Ganesha is called > Child of the Pleiades...I wonder what does that means...I vibrate > quite > a lot with something that I can´t trully explain but it has to do > with > a "place" somewhere in space (space=mind) where there are childs, > fully > enlightened childs and that somehow we form part of it > aswell...perhaps > its a way of "my" mind portraying our inner child or our buddha > nature > a kind of buddha land where our pure child nature "lives". > I was nontheless chocked about this idea of Ganesha being a child of > the Pleiades...if anyone has a hint please give feedback! > http://www.davedavies.com/splanet/temple.htm > ______________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! Guest guest
Foisting, as usual, my opinions on whoever's around...I think LOVING GANSESH is a life changing book. THE LEMURIAN SCROLLS? Sorry, to me they have the ring of twaddle. Some people, no matter how exalted, never know when to stop channelling. Of course I speak only for myself... Ganesh child of the Pleiades, however exciting as an idea, is an absurdity. Them seven sisters is in his belly...along with billions of other stars...and him smaller than a neutrino...and of untold being long before those stars condensed... Sorry, to me they have the ring of twaddle. Some people, no matter how exalted, never know when to stop channelling. Of course I speak only for myself... No, you speak for the both of us there. The book was posted, but personally hasn't been read here for the same reasons you mentioned. There is too much real scripture out there, a lifetime's worth to read, than to fill one's library with many contemporary pieces anyway. However, we must allow each and every person to be who they are and to be at their particular station, lest we usurp God with the ego believe with ludicrous certainty that the ego knows better how to manage things. While it is fine to state one's station, it is not ever fine to push that understanding down another's throat. There are whole religions based on that premise. May we always respect each and every persons station in life, aum. Just as the children in various levels of school are in the various gradations of understanding, so too the aspirants are in gradations of understanding Absolute Truth. Guest guest
There´s no need to enter into an argument here. All it was, was a question on this title of Child of the Pleiades. It was a request of information and not an ego clinging to any particular form of Ganesha. Besides everybody is free to conect to the Ganesha´s essence through whatever he/she feels more confortable with, make it a child or a big cosmic belly or even thinking he is Padmasambhava or Merlin the magician...its still the same sameness, its good to remember not to cling to forms but it is also good not to cling to non-forms either and even better not to cling to non clinguing... Besides, when someone helps a town, he may receive as a sign of respect the honorific title of "child of the town". this doesn´t mean that your Mom and Dad is a whole town, so the question on the absurdity (Pleiades-Ganesha´s belly) doesn´t raise. It is only a title and as such it was understood at least by me.In other words an honorific title is not a birth certificate. As far as I´m concerned (Thanks to Black Lotus post) I think the web I posted seem to make a mistake and call Ganesha child of the Pleiades while it was is brother who through its own mythology seem to be more in contact with the Pleiade´s sisters. I hope I was clearer enough this time. Non clinging kisses Barbara
Guest guest
I'll give another one then. Kashmir Shaivism. The true teachers that are qualified, and there are not many, actually try to dissuade people from practicing Trika.
