Regarding fetishes, you can buy them on line; that's easy. And some very good

Hopi people carve fine fetishes all the time. I don't put that down.<<<<<< Care

betta be honest with ya : Count me into the "Misguided Souls" department and

I'll settle comfortably, at least till I become 'guided'.....

When you're walking about, pay closer attention to the rocks and the stones whom

you meet. <<<<< The humble abode where I try to call 'home' (vagabonds don't

really have homes) is smack bang in "city" Sydney. Would be like searching for

a pin in a haystack here. But yes when the next journey comes along into the

wilds, I'll be ogling hard for stones, thanks for the tip.

They're all a form of consciousness. Sooner or later you're going to find one

that looks like a wolf or looks like an owl. If your magick is really at work,

you'll find more than one. Stones found, take them home. <<<<< Strange I'd done

that before but nothing resembling owl or wolf. They seem to be elusive so far.

Do whatever you like to make them more wolf- or owl-like. Keep a few for your

home...but (and here is where the magick really kicks in) take one or two and

put them somewhere outside...to honor Owl or to honor Wolf (any spirit animal

can be so honored). Leave a bit of something or other that you think will

please them and move on...knowing that you are indeed moving on...but a bit

less alone than before. Owl or Wolf will be more noticeably with you.<<<<<<

Never thought of that before so here's loads of mighty big thanks for yet

another teep.

(I am NOT making this up, btw; this is how an extraordinary fetish carver

works...one in touch with the spirits of those who went before.) If you go to

the libe and get a book on fetishes, you'll note at once that the older ones

become very rock-like. That's because they ARE rocks, messed with as little as

possible. The reason you can't buy them is very few people are willing to sell

them.<<<<< Got ya there, now understand why few are willing to part with 'em.

asked publicly in the first place. And yes, pretty sure too that other members

may find your insights of great assistance in their respective 'journeys'.

Of course it's entirely possible to find a Ganapati in stone. Or any other

God-Expression that works for you. I think at that point you leave the world of

fetish and enter the world of "self-emerged"...but I've often thought it's not

possible to enter that world without a spirit animal's help. <<<<< Along

Shamanic lines, mostly not possible perhaps. But surely there are other

practitioners who've entered those 'worlds' via respective sadhanas? If

someone here has, please educate us, thank you.

hunting, hope to head back to Borneo some time next year (if God be willing)

for one week. Miss that place terribly, the calling is strong for another

You've seen the Happy Ganapati by now. His mouse fetish has spent 3 or 4 days

with him at this point, and is waking up. You can tell when a fetish awakens:

it starts feeling like a creature alive. This fetish is a carved Hopi one.

I'm watching around for a mouse rock now...<<<<< By time this line appears, bet

Mushika's already running around and pinching some modakas from his Master!

Btw, I reckon the Mouse Rock will find you. Not the other way round.

Hope you don't mind me interrupting your fetish chat here. I really

enjoyed reading what you both had to say. I don't know anything about

magic, but I do believe that creation will image itself forth. I

believe that often I have great fetishes which come to me, but I

don't seek them out or get attatched. I won't go into a treatise on

my views of fetishes, since we most likely see it differently. Still,

I do sometimes 'buy' things, but mostly they come in miraculous and

normal ways. I can even mention an image of Rama once which came to

me in this way. I had desired a certain image and searched for it.

Not finding it, I realized I was too attatched. I then resigned

myself saying that if I was meant to have one it would come in it's

own way and time. Then a few days later a gift was presented to me of

the exact image I wanted, in a nice frame, which I found later had

come from a Vishnu temple. So, I was being graced. I have put this

image in a special place devoted to Rama images and Rama books. I

dust it often and I am always reminded of Rama's stories when I walk

past it. I have many stones and parts of trees, etc. that speak to me

and that have come to me. Each one has taught me a specific lesson

and has helped enrich me. I do not feel the need to hold onto them,

yet often I will keep them as reminders. I do not to a

magical understanding of these holy objects, but then I do not know

anything about magic. I also believe in naturally occurring fetishes.

be our offering....'cause we can't go through the same hoops as were
