I recently had a very negative experience on another supposedly open-minded

hindu board.<<<<<< Saddened to hear this.

I was cornered by a very pushy member of the board and I was called superficial

and a 'bluffer' since I did not accept his spiritual beliefs.<<<<<< Be assured

that Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) is not about proselytizing. It is not a

religion as such either. It is "A Way of Life" - the "Eternal Path" as some

may say. It depends on individual definition. In this case, it is

questionable whether the person who cornered you, is a true seeker and whether

he observes the dharma he/she is supposed to.

Well, I then I thought of how much I feel almost like a little family has

developed here on and I just wanted you to know that I feel loved by

you all and I feel welcomed even if I do not share the beliefs of everyone

here.<<<<<< Everyone is welcome here, Christians, Jewish, Jain, Moslems, Bahai,

etc. etc. Gladdens the heart to know you feel loved and welcomed. Ganesh

doesn't need to proselytize and neither does He expect everyone in the universe

to have similar beliefs. This is what this group is all about. Well, mostly

anyway.

To me, this family represents true tolerance as they have allowed me

as a Christian, who does not agree with everything about Hinduism to come here

and simply learn about Hinduism from the perspective of Ganesh. No one here has

ever forced me into a corner.<<<<<< Ganesh does not corner people, instead He

bestows boons to the sincere.

No one here has ever insulted my religion, to me at least, and made me feel

'superficial'.<<<<< To insult another's religion or religious beliefs is to

insult one's own religion, and oneself. Aren't we all, of the one big wider

cosmos or consciousness? Only it comes in different names and guises.

Instead I have been constantly greeted w respect and love and peace from

all.<<<<< Peace is what we want on this Group.

This to me shows spiritual presence.<<<<<< We are honored by your kind words.

We owe this to Ganesha's Presence, though cyber.

This shows god is here. I am not saying that I have ill will toward the people

from the other message board. I simply hope they progress spiritually from

where they are at. <<<<<< Very nice and Gracious of you, Bill. We hope the

same for them.

Also, I hope that I progress spiritually too.<<<<<< You already have.... and you

will evolve even further.

I do not see myself separate from them, since I believe we are all related.

Still, I cannot function there in that condemning environment.<<<<< When an

environment is hostile, move on..... The hostility itself may mean it is not

the appropriate place for you to be.

Here I feel a haven. Thanks again. This board is truly a gift.<<<<<< Thank you

too Bill, you are also a "gift" to us.
