My sister in , its ok to use the word "Abo" in a friendly way when

conversing with people who understand you and know you well. Please remember

not to say "Abo" to an Aborignal person - some of them may take GREAT offence.

You see, "white" Ocker Aussies use this word (short form) in a denigrating way.

Sincere thanks for inviting me to come along with you to "Dreamland". You're

really sweet... But I'm too old now to make the trip. More than 10 years ago

I went across the Nullarbor Desert.. There were many Aboriginal Settlements

along the way but you need permission to enter some of these places. Its a

long story......

Anyway, Alice Springs (and Ayers Rock, the "heart" of Australia) is freely

accessible to everybody. To go there would be going to Australia's Dreamland

Heart. You can climb up to the top of Ayers Rock. There are guides to take you

up there along with other people. There are camels outside Alice Springs and

many friendly Aboriginals who will show you their beautiful artworks and other

things, share Dreamtime stories with you and maybe invite you to join one of

their ceremonies. Whatever you do, don't go to the casino in Alice

Springs!!!!!!

But if luck has it and I have the energy when you are ready to visit your

Aboriginal Forefathers, yes we both will be the "Nightmares" created by the

Aboriginal Man that Craig met.

Alternatively, there are other Aboriginal places in Australia where visitors can

go, such as in Darwin, Queensland and some of the islands like Thursday Island,

Palm Island, etc.

Back to the desert:: Yes, travelling across a desert is a phenomenal experience

and one could die there in the middle of nowhere. We will need a roadworthy

4-wheel drive, carry petrol and camping gear, food and water supplies, must be

good drivers, be ready for HOT temperatures in the day and COLD temperatures at

night. There are few "truck stops", pubs, resthouses and petrol stations in

between the long road. You are right, this kind of travel is extremely

humbling and takes the Ego away. After one comes out alive of the desert, one

becomes a changed person. I wasn't spiritual at the time either.

Your Zy with kangaroo hugs,

half aussie and I am sure half abo aswell..I have to go to Dreamland I promess

one day I will go and it would be a pleasure to meet you, perhaps then we can

all go to see our aboriginal fathers???My boyfriend Craig, also australian, he

once had a dream where he was in a cave with an aboriginal man, the aboriginal

said that Craig was a dream created by this aboriginal...I am sure if we go

there and find the man he will say Oh lord...here come the two authentic

NIGHTMARES I HAVE CREATED!LOL!!!Sounds a fantastic trip that I have in

heart-mind to realize some day not very far off...Koala hugs!BarbaraPs I love

the desert. I feel I´m a bedouin woman-man...I use to travel quite a bit on the

Saharan desert...an incredible experience where you realize how tinny we are as

humans and how powerful is Mother Nature. Its an excellent trip for the ego!

LOL you melt the ego! We should create a travel company called:

Melt-the-ego.com and take people to the desert...for me it has been the most

spiritual experiences in my life althought I wasn´t "spiritual" at that time

Hey Sister..I thought you were a brother! I had to check your id

to realise the basic truth of your sexuality LOL!!!!

Yes, I understand the sensibilities that may be hurt if we use the word

"Abo". My australian part comes from my mother, she was anglosaxon (she

died in 1977) not aboriginal but this doesn´t trully matter. Having

realised the great wisdom african people have, I can imagine aswell the

tremendous wisdom that the aboriginals have aswell. This is why I call

them fathers, out of total and loving respect.

Don´t tell me you are out of age or energy cause I don´t believe a

single word you are typing ein??? We´ll speak about that once the time

comes!

No casino I promess you! I don´t like gambling! I only gamble in life,

taking risks for good goals not for green paper...lol

All the best

Barbara
