Guest guest
Namaste Sy, I thank you so very much for your advice on the matter. I feel ignorent in asking more questions that may seem to be general knowledge, but please bear with me. I so far understand that Lord Ganesha is the all powerful, the god of gods if you will. But is there a specific prayer i can chant in his honour? Or, is there a website dedicated to different hymns for different reasons? Plus, say i wanted to pray to a god such as Krishna, does Ganesha take priority over other gods? Being stuck in a Paganist world for 17 years i have not fully understod the full meaning of prayers and the meanings and the corrrect 'procedure' in which to follow. Thats why i praise people like you Sy who are helping me through this change in my life. I thank you once again - Jamie , SY Zenith <syzenith> wrote: > > G'day Jamie, > Warmest welcome and wonderful to see you here! The 'temple' is also in the heart. Therefore, there is no need for the full set up and full works. There are those who do "mental worship" or "internal worship" via visualization, etc. Each to their own individual practices. > What sort of prayers do you require? Example, pray to Lord Ganesha for removing obstacles, etc. "Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha" is one mantra or prayer. You can also pray to Ganesha in English :-) No kidding. Being also the Lord of the Cosmos, He hears all, and understands all languages. That's a start anyway. > Anyone here has better and other suggestions, comments, advice? Let fly and share please, thanks. > By signing into our 'little Ganesh Family', its a great leap forward too. As you know, He's the first god propitiated before others. > Btw, "Namaste" as you enquired before, roughly means "I bow to the Divine in you". Its a common sincere greeting amongst Hindus, aspirants and seekers, etc. I can go on and on about "Namaste" but need choof off for now. Perhaps someone else here can emphasize more about Namaste instead. > Bountiful blessings, > Sy > "Jamie <suckitau>" <suckitau> wrote:Hello group, > > Just a quick question, is there an simple prayer i can do without > doing the whole set up with the table and so on? Guest guest
Hi Jamie and Zy I love the word Namaste and specially I love this translation of its meaning: "I honour in you the divinity that I honour within myself and now we ARE ONE"... Beautiful ein??? indeed it is a very complete holy salutation Love Barbara
