Guest guest
Now, its come to my mind about the name of the place where you were talking about: Budh Gaya (where Buddha found enlightenment under the bodhi tree). You may want to look at travel guides about places such as Dalhousie, Darjeeling, Dharmsala and Benares (holy city) and other locations past the north of Delhi - depends on how far you want to go. Lovely to hear about your friend being married, happy and peaceful. I think you are right, he would be carrying his beliefs as his love for his Motherland inside him. Maybe his Ishta Devata is not Ganesha, that's why he looked at you both in a funny way whenever you discussed Ganesha. Perhaps you could one day ask him which is his Ishta Devata or his family deity? Just curiousity and a suggestion only..... Lol...!! Japanese learning flamenco!! They are talented people but I don't think they have the "fire" and "passion" of the Spanish :-) to be able to do the flamenco well. Mongolian throat-singing! Some time ago, I saw a documentary about a blind and ill man from California who travelled to several parts of the Tuvan Republic to learn throat-singing. Tuvan is the home of this special art. It was a very touching documentary. The man was very sincere, studied, practiced and he finally won some competitions in Tuvan before going home to the U.S. He was very courageous and the people in Tuvan took care of him too. There are many Shamans in Tuvan, as in Siberia and Mongolia as you know. By the way, you better stop annoying the neighbours ;-) Guess if they know about throat-singing, they won't mind! Do you practice often? Love, Sy aqesa <aqesa > wrote: Yes the restaurant man is a lovely person and it came from his heart to offer his home to us. I don´t know him much it is my boyfriend Craig who knows him more, but it is indeed quite a strange offer. I am also glad that he is now the owner of a restaurant and that things work better for him. He recently married an indian women like him and he is very happy and peaceful. He doesn´t consider himself a very spiritual person and he always look at us with a funny face when we talk to him about Ganesha, and so on...he must think we are wierdos! LOL! But I am sure he carries his belief inside himself as he carries his love for his Motherland...Nontheless it is always funny I guess for those from one culture to find other persons from different cultures so interested on yours...its like here in Spain we get always very amused at japanese people who learn to dance flamenco. They do it very well but it is wierd to see...My mate and I are now trying to sing mongolian throatsinging and I guess that if a mongolian saw us he would be laughing quite a bit at our funny noises LOLOLOLO!!!! (my neighbours probably are thinking we are trully mad! )LoveBarbaraFor Ganesh Bhaktas:/Do you ? Guest guest
Hello SYji! Yes, the place is called Bodhi Gaya but I thought that was not the name of the town nearby, just the name of the site in buddhist texts only...not a geographical name...But I will chek it thanks!!!! Okey I will ask the indian restaurant friend for his family deity...how does someone know wich is their family deity? is it because it is passed on from generation to generation? Yes throat singing Tuva, mongolians, shamans, Bons I love all that don´t ask me why...I discovered it in this lifetime tree years ago when accidentaly I bumped into an advertisement of a concert of Sainkho a world famous tuvan singer. I was astonished listening to her and since then I´ve been interested in learning harmonics sounds and overtones. It is very pleasurable to sing them and some people consider it brings good health benefits and even spiritual growth but there is some kind of debate on that matter. (i´ve been asking questions on the spiritual values of throat singing in a quite serious throat singing forum and they seem to focus exclusively in the musical aspect of this vocal technique. So I think I am bein a wierdo asking there LOL )... It is good to clean the lungs from the rest of tobacco though!!!! Neighbours haven´t said anything yet. Besides they arent home when I sing so that´s ok. These days I am singing a lot, perhaps I need it. If not, before, I had almost forgotten the harmonics and hardly singed them since 2 years...so it is good to return to this practice. Hugs!!!!
