Guest guest Posted July 31, 2003 Report Share Posted July 31, 2003 Well, Sy, if the murthi is made of unbaked clay (or papier mache, or is a painted image) bathing it will cause it to melt, or look pretty bedraggled. Such images that are not waterproof are not themselves bathed. A mirror is used to catch the reflection, and the reflected image is sprinkled!
